About

Terri Cohen is a multi-disciplinary Artist who loves to mix media to create intricate 2D & 3D artworks intertwined with principles of the natural and supernatural world. Terri is a pioneer for our new world, a world connected to spirit & earth where we and nature are one.

With a deep connection to nature and the spirit world, her work is a channel for the divine consciousness. Her mission with this art is to awaken our supernatural powers to connect to our ancestors and guardians, the ones who came before and watch over us as we map though this life’s journey. Terri is the channel and the art is the messenger.

In her previous life before motherhood, Terri journeyed through the fashion industry for 14 years as a Designer and Creative Consultant. After graduating from Nottingham Trent school of fashion with a 1st class hons, Terri started her career as an apprentice designer at All Saints specialising in dresses, drape and embellishment.  Driven by her desire to expand her skills, she transitioned to brands such as Jaeger London and Diesel, designing full catwalk collections. Terri then ventured out on her own, founding Terri Cohen Design Consultancy and working between New Zealand and London as the Head of Design for House of Holland & Karen Walker for 6 years.

During her consultancy work, Terri took time to travel far and wide, soaking in ancient lands and indigenous cultures. She found soul connection in South and Central America and spent time living in Peru and Guatemala where she connected with the indigenous communities and worked with self to connect deeper to mind, body and spirit through ceremony, plant medicines & breath work.

After birthing her first son Owli blu, Terri wanted to slow her pace and embrace the transformative journey of motherhood. However, for Terri to thrive, the world around her needs to be full of craft and creation. Terri would craft with her son and explored many new mediums which led her to clay. The beauty of evolution resulted in her creating hand crafted talisman guardians. They came through her hands with such conviction and said, “we are here we will guide you to your next venture.

The talismans are guardians for your space, they will guide and support you. Crystals are embedded then removed before being placed in a drum kiln in the open fire, ceramics are sanded and burnished with a flat crystal stone and fired with organic matter which have been through a drying process to create naturally occurring colour pigmentation within the clay body. Talismans are linked together with macrame and beading using natural jute ropes, yarns and hand dyed wooden beads. This work contains ancient symbology connecting worlds within worlds, channelling the ones who came before, who guide and protect; creators, gods and guardians.

During Terris 2nd pregnancy she continued to quietly make, and created large scale macramé (The firebird) & talisman guardian goddess of fertility Ixchel. When her second son Leni Wild was eight months old, she had a strong urge to set up her studio and get back to creating her art. Terri had made a collection of illustrations from her travels which she digitally collaged and turned into prints. She didn’t realise quite how popular these would be, and after an influx of customers she set up The Serpent and The Sun shop to offer her creations to the world.

Terri is now working on a number of exciting collaborations with artists where she can infuse all of her skills and the enduring connection between past and present.
